THE VILLA
A bit of History
The villa was built between the late 18th and early 19th century by the Bongiovanni family, wealthy landowners of the area; it was built according to the architectural canons of the Palladian style and remained in the family's possession for several generations.
In the 1950s, the building was bought by a family from Locara, who renovated it, even modifying the main façade, making it more “modern”. Over time, however, the building was almost completely abandoned and, due to poor maintenance, risked collapsing.
In 1996 Carla and Fernando bought the old villa, willing to restore it to its original splendour.
The barchessa was renovated, with exposed stone walls and wooden ceilings. This space, with a capacity of 250 seats, is now suitable for hosting various events, both in winter and summer, thanks to the glass windows that surround it and allow a beautiful view of the garden.
For smaller events, the villa also has other rooms, with capacity for about 60 people. Subsequently, the restoration of the manor house proceeded and was completed in December 2006. After that, the whole building was equipped with state-of-the-art technology for projecting videos, photographs and presentations.
Today, the villa is passionately managed by Claudio and Samuela, together with Elia, Anna and Maria and their valuable co-workers, who contribute every day to keep its history and hospitality alive.
